First Friday : The Unauthorized News : Archaeology - Heʻeia Marsh and Kāneʻohe (July 1988)

Pacific news of New Caledonia, Tahiti, Fiji, Papua New Guinea. Maoris in New Zealand and Belau (Palau). A tape segment on the Heʻeia Marsh is shown and archaeologist Marion Kelly describes the Hawaiian fish ponds and the taro farms which exemplified Hawaiʻi's self sufficency and which need to be made functional again. Buddy Neller of OHA speaks also of the heiau that must be protected in the Kāneʻohe region. Some black & white photos are shown.
