Hawaiian Legacy Foundation

This collection contains videotape production materials, raw footage, interviews and edited masters related to documentary films directed and produced by Eddie and Myrna Kamae from 1988-2012 as part of the Hawaiian Legacy Series to "ensure authentic Hawaiian cultural continuity through the films" and "to document for posterity the music, language, people and places of old Hawaiʻi." Program titles include Liʻa: The Legacy of a Hawaiian Man (1988); Listen to the Forest (1991); The Hawaiian Way: The Art and Tradition of Slack Key Music (1993); Words, Earth & Aloha: The Source of Hawaiian Music (1995); Luther Kahekili Makekau: The One Kine Hawaiian Man (1997); Hawaiian Voices: Bridging Past to Present (1998); Sons of Hawaiʻi: A Sound, a Band, a Legend (2000); Keepers of the Flame: The Legacy of Three Hawaiian Women (2005); Lahaina: Waves of Change (2007); Feeding the Soul; Those Who Came Before.
