First Friday : The Unauthorized News : UNPO Mission in Hawaiʻi (July 1996)
Focuses on the UNPO (Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization) and other international organizations, giving the background and importance of the UNPO to indigenous and colonized peoples throughout the world in working towards independence. Some of UNPO's missions are discussed, including the many violations of indigenous rights that occur. Ka Lāhui Hawaiʻi's request for the UNPO to come to Hawaiʻi and work with the Native Hawaiians is covered, including the three main issues to be investigated: 1. plebiscite/Native Hawaiian vote; 2. implementation, if any, of the federal Apology Bill; 3. condition of Native Hawaiian people.
