Broadcast recording of the 1993 Merrie Monarch Festival ʻauana night. The festival takes place in the year of the 100th anniversary of the overthrow and includes hula honoring King Kalākaua and other aliʻi. The judges are Nālani Kanakaʻole, Thaddius Wilson, Kealoha Kalama, Pat Namaka Bacon, Noenoe Zuttermeister-Lewis, Robert Kalani, and Leilani Medez. Near the end of the festival the judges dance on stage.
