Interview with Ruth Kaholoaʻa in Hilo 4/13/91 tape 3

Continued interview with Ruth Kaholoaʻa from title 24891 and recorded in her loʻi kalo (taro patch) on April 13, 1991 for the documentary "Hawaiian Voices: Bridging Past to Present." Kaholoaʻa demonstrates some of the useful ways ka poʻe kahiko (old timers) made use of what was provided from the ʻāina, such as how to make a kīʻaha (cup) from the lau (leaf). Kaholoaʻa also mentions several names and varieties of kalo in her garden and Hawaiian names of the sections of the kalo plant.
