Footage includes chow fun noodles and shaved ice being sold at the Obon dance. Interview with Hale takes place near the shore. Hale, speaking in Hawaiian and English, shares her memories of early childhood, recalling how at five years old she went to visit family at Kalaupapa and the experiences which left a lasting imprint in her mind at 87 years old.
